Summer Baseball Gives High School Players Chance To Improve

Posted: Updated:

High school summer baseball may not count for anything statistically, but for young teams, it gives them a chance to develop talent and create a competitive roster for the next season. Several local teams lost key players after last season, including the Rutherford Rams. Head Coach Jon Hudson said Friday that summer ball gives every guy a chance to up his game.

"This is where we get a lot done," he said of the season. "This is where we teach. Hopefully you get to the spring and you've got some things in place. We've got some kids improving in areas they need to improve. These tournaments we get out and play four games in three days and hopefully we see some improvement through the summer."
