A train struck and killed a man in DeFuniak Springs early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the scene at 4:15 a.m. after the CSX train struck the man between South 11th Street and Crescent Drive.
According to the department's website, police arrived to find Rolando Chavix Jocon deceased, with multiple injuries to his head, hands and legs. Police said the train was eastbound at the normal speed for a populated area and Jocon, 25, sleep in the middle of the tracks when he was hit.
An autopsy and toxicology tests are planned but authorities said there was no evidence of alcohol use at the scene. The investigation is continuing and no charges are anticipated, police said.
