A Bay County Marine was laid to rest Wednesday in an emotional ceremony celebrating his life.
Lance Corporal Jared Brown died on June 16th, his 20th birthday, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
The young man was loved by many and that was very clear as family, friends, and community members packed out the funeral home chapel of Kent Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens before moving graveside, where the 20 year old was given a full military burial.
Lance Corporal Brown was a 2011 graduate of Bozeman High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps prior to his completing high school.
His family said he was very loving and will be remembered best for his charismatic smile, twinkling eyes and great sense of humor.
During Wednesday's service, Brown's friend and Reverend, Brandon Warr, said the word that came to mind about Brown was "encouragement", as he was never to busy to care about others.
He said Brown's military service was a dream fulfilled, as Brown had always been determined to serve.
The family said a part of them is gone and they will miss their beloved son forever.
Brown's death is currently under investigation.
He is survived by his mother, Susan, his father, William and siblings, Stephanie, SueHannah, Garret, Jasmine, and Colby.
