Commissioners in the City of Callaway have passed an ordinance that they hope will be good for business. Zoning changes affect what can move into the city and where.
The city has a new ordinance that will allow commercial businesses to move into the same areas as some residents thereby creating a "mixed use" area.
In mixing new commercial businesses with the residents already in the area officials are hopeful the ordinance will encourage city growth in Callaway.
The ordinance was passed last Tuesday and according to Collins some businesses are already showing interest in the available properties, "We do we have people that have been talking to us and we've been marketing trying to get people to come so I think that is going to be a marketing tool and part of the incentive package that we are using to bring businesses to Callaway."
The City of Callaway is currently working to bring in more businesses into the area.
