The South Walton Tourist Development Council (TDC) has announced the selection of Jim Bagby as the new executive director. Bagby will provide leadership and be responsible for managing the internal departments of the TDC including marketing, communications, sales, administration and beach maintenance. He will also represent the TDC as the liaison to the Walton County Board of County Commissioners, TDC Advisory Council, partners and the community.
"I'm very excited about my new role with Walton County, Bagby said. "The TDC has a very talented team and I look forward to working with them to engage the community."
Bagby's experience includes 24 years in the United States Army with a variety of operational and staff assignments throughout the world. Most recently, he held the position of town manager in Rosemary Beach, one of South Walton's 16 beach neighborhoods. For nearly 10 years, he was responsible for all facets of town operations in that community such as budgeting, personnel, security, events and property owner services.
