Bay High Football Players Help Out Community At Rescue Mission

Posted: Updated:

In prep football news, we still have over a month before the official start of the high school football season, but some Bay High Tornado football players gathered together Wednesday to help out folks in need.

Bay High Head Football Coach Jimmy Longerbeam and several members of the football team were at the Panama City Rescue Mission Wednesday.

The players were helping serve lunch to some of the folks that need to utilize the services of the rescue mission.

Coach Longerbeam said he had a huge response from players who wanted to participate, but was limited to the number of kids he could take with him.

Longerbeam also said, "we had a great response we had to turn them away because you are only allowed to bring eight kids so we had to turn them away so this is something they wanted to do sometimes we tend to forget how well we have it and how bad other people do and this kind of gives us a little dose of reality."

The prep football season gets started the last weekend in August with some pre season games and most schools will play their first regular season games the first weekend in September.
