After much strategic planning, the Gulf Coast State College division of Continuing Education is excited to announce their name change to Corporate College. The services offered to the community by the College will remain, and it is strongly felt that the re-branding will boost the community's understanding of how the division can meet their needs. The mission of Corporate College will not only address the community's business needs, but also continue to address the personal enrichment needs of the community which are embraced by GCSC.
"As we continue to market and brand ourselves as a strategic partner to the community related to identifying and creating solutions, the name Corporate College has a higher level of credibility associated with it," said Al McCambry, Director of Corporate College. "The needs of our business community related to training and workforce development that can be captured in a noncredit environment is constantly increasing. Couple that with the strong partnership we will have with the Advanced Technology Center and our potential is limitless."
Dr. Jeff Stevenson, Chief Economic Development Officer, is confident this is a step that demonstrates the continued commitment to excellence and is timed with the opening of the Advanced Technology Center. One of the priorities is attracting local, regional and national companies for retreats and corporate training. "This rebranding further professionalizes our division, connotes prestige to our programs, and indicates our commitment to be a national leader in the field," Stevenson stated.
Dr. Jim Kerley, GCSC President, agrees that the name reflects the evolving and changing aspects of the institution. "A key part of our mission is to provide support to our community with noncredit programming, leisure and more in-depth state-of-the-art business and industrial training. It is our goal, especially with the new ATC, to push to the next level of support for our community partners."
