On Monday, Aug. 5, The UF/IFAS Bay County Cooperative Extension Office will open in a new location while a wind and flood retrofit of the current office building in the Cedar Grove community is conducted.
The Extension Office, now located at 2728 E. 14th St., Panama City will be closed Wednesday, July 31 through Friday, Aug. 2 and will reopen Monday, Aug. 5 at a new, temporary location at 225 McKenzie Ave., Panama City, behind the Bay County Courthouse.
The retrofit project, aimed at making the building better able to withstand severe weather, is funded via a $319,000 Disaster Recovery Community Development Block Grant from the state and is expected to take about four months to complete, weather permitting.
The Extension Office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information about the Extension program, please visit http://bay.ifas.ufl.edu/.
