With school starting in just weeks, kids are prepping now and that means shopping for clothes. In Jackson County students, parents and school officials are prepping for a whole new look.
Students in Jackson will have a new dress code but rather than calling this change up a uniform the school board is calling it "appropriate dress."
The Jackson County School Board is hoping to mimic Bay County's dress code success by trying on the new concept. Shirts follow a color scheme that correlates with the schools colors. All eight schools are permitted to wear white as well. The Jackson School Board sees this as an effective way to protect students from school intruders. Some students are asking to be able to personalize their shirts...so monogramming shirt pockets will be allowed, as long as the emblem is smaller than a credit card. Students are free to accessorize as they please with jewelry.
