Beginning with their August 13th meeting, Walton County will begin the live streaming and archiving of their Board of County Commission (BCC) Meetings. Live streams will be available for all regularly scheduled BCC meetings and all video will be archived on the County's website approximately 15 minutes after the completion of the meeting.
In addition to the live streaming and archiving of the County's BCC meetings, the County will also be able to provide enhanced online agendas and meeting information on their website. Each agenda will contain links to supporting documents prior to the meeting.
The live and archived video page can be accessed on the County's website, http://www.co.walton.fl.us, by clicking on the BCC Meeting Video Button on the left hand side of all interior pages or from the homepage by clicking the BCC Meeting Video button in the Citizen Help Center.
"The ability to stream our meetings live to the public as well as offer them archived video of past meetings is a big step in providing increased access to our meetings," said County Public Information Manager Louis Svehla. "The video, coupled with our new linked agendas, will be a wonderful addition to how the public can access information about items that will come before the board as well as research past board action."
In addition to being able to view all agenda items and documents prior to the meeting, the video viewer used for live streaming and archive video will include the live link agenda in the frame. The linking of the agenda to the video player will allow the public to view and access links on the agenda while viewing the meeting online in real time or archived following the meeting. Also, each item will be time-stamped based on the agenda. This time stamping will allow the public to skip to the specific item on the agenda that they wish to view.
The live streaming of each meeting will begin a few minutes before each meeting is called into order and will last for the entire meeting. The contents of the full meeting will be archived for viewing following each meeting and will be done so without edits.
