Freeport Bulldogs Prep For Football Season Without Gabe Moore

Posted: Updated:

We continue our look at prep teams in our area Thursday we look at the Freeport Bulldogs coached once again by Jim Anderson.

The Bulldogs went 5-5 in the regular season last year, but they were 2-1 in district play which put them into the post season, where they beat Graceville in the regional semi's, but then lost to Northview in the regional finals in overtime.

The Bulldogs return a good portion of the team from last year, but one very significant loss is that of Quarterback Gabe Moore.

Moore notified Coach Anderson over the weekend, that he is going to concentrate on Track and Field and not play Football in his senior season. The loss of Moore comes as quite a shock to those involved in prep football. As Moore is considered by many people to be one of the best Quarterbacks in the panhandle.

Coach Anderson said, even though Moore is out, the team has a great attitude and are working very hard to be ready for the start of the season.
