With just 11 more days till the start of the school year, two area businesses have joined up to help the salvation army prepare kids with everything they will need for the first day of school.
A bus from Wyndham Bay Point Resort came over packed with school supplies to the Powel Broadcasting studios to help with *The Pack the Bus Program.*
This program helps less fortunate children in the community with supplies needed to start the school year off right.
Starting Saturday morning nearly 300 back packs packed with everything from pencils to notebook paper, and every thing in-between will be given away kids can also get their back to school hair cuts and play in bouncy houses at the Salvation Army on 77 in Lynn Haven.
Shae Wells is with the Salvation Army talks about how important the event is to the children of Bay County.
"To just be able to have the things that they need and that they are able to be successful in school it touches my heart it's just a wonderful thing this is truly an awesome event," says Wells.
Anyone is eligible to receive the school supplies, the Salvation Army just asks you bring a photo ID and a birth certificate for each child receiving any supplies.
