We continue our look at high school football teams in our area. Friday we take a look at the Marianna Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 8-2 season from last year, unfortunately for Marianna their two losses were both district losses.
For the second year in a row the Bulldogs will be led on to the field by another new coach. Marianna's third Head Coach in four years.
Mark Beach taking the head coaching job after Tim Coakley left after just one year at the helm in Marianna.
Beach not a stranger to Jackson County, as he coached the Graceville Tigers last year.
Coach Beach said, he sees plenty of talent on the field. The trick now is for him to earn the trust of the athletes and for them to buy into another new system that he and his staff are putting in place.
Beach said, "It's not as much as an attitude is creating together togetherness for those guys to believe in me as a coach that's what we've been working on I know athletically we have got the guys to do what we need to do but basically it's just trust issues they've had three coaches in the last four years it's just one of those things a lot of change it is just a belief system we had a great summer with the FCA camp and some great things since then they are alive we had a great practice last night and today we are working hard"
Beach will get a chance to evaluate the progress of his new team when they take the field for a preseason classic on August 23rd, when the Bulldogs travel to Wakulla to take on the War Eagles.
