The start of the prep football season is right around the corner and we continue our look at prep teams in our area and how they are shaping up going into the start of the season.
Sunday we looked at the Seahawks of South Walton being led by second year Head Coach Phil Tisa.
In Coach Tisa's first year, which was last year, the Seahawks were 1-9 in the regular season 0-3 in district play.
Coach Tisa inherited a very young squad when he took over, but this year Tisa returns the majority of his team from last year, only losing eight players to graduation.
Tisa said he has two areas that he and his coaching staff need to work on as the team prepares for the first game, Special Teams and turnovers.
Tisa said, "Biggest thing we took out it is just consistency protecting the football something we spent a lot of time on in the off-season special-teams is going to be a focus that lost us a couple of games and just consistency this is the second year running this offense and second year running this defense so we hope that consistency will show."
The Seahawks will get a chance to show Coach Tisa that they have got the right stuff on August 23rd as South Walton travels to Defuniak Springs to take on the Walton Braves in a pre season classic.
