We continue our look at area high school football teams and how they are shaping up heading into the start of the 2013 football season.
Wednesday we look at the Bay High Tornadoes, who are being led once again by Head Coach Jimmy Longerbeam.
Bay High will be looking to improve on last years 3-7 season.
This will be Coach Longerbeam's third year leading the Tornadoes. Bay only winning one district game in Longerbeam's first two years as Head Coach.
The Tornadoes struggling on the offensive side of the ball in their seven losses last year, Bay only scored 62 points.
Coach Longerbeam said, they have some key returning players from last year like Travion Turrell, who will play both sides of the ball and Ethan Brown who will anchor a much improved defense.
Longerbeam also said that he has seen some of the rising seniors take a leadership role that will make a difference on the field.
Coach Longerbeam said, "honestly we work all three phases every day special teams offense and defense we really work on all three all day long we have great leadership and our kids are in really good shape and they have had a great summer i think that is a lot of it and i think defensively i think we are going to be pretty good because we have a bunch of kids back that can run"
Bay High will hit the field Friday August 23rd as they take on Northview Bratt in Bratt.
