Over lunch this afternoon the Homeless and Hunger Coalition of Northwest Florida encouraged supporters to come to the table on the issue and join in the fight to end homelessness.
Wednesday, they met for their annual luncheon to go over the numbers and draw supporters from the community. The purpose of the coalition is to plan, network, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of services to the homeless.
Working with the business community and local government they provide food, housing, and medical care to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless.
Morgan Burleson with the coalition says this meeting is a good time to catch up on topics involving their mission.
"We have some new legislation that's come down that is going to help us identify and define who we are and where we are going," said Burleson. "And so it's a really exciting time we do need more players more agencies more partners to come to the table to help us solve this issue of homelessness."
