Jackson County Firefighter Burned in House Fire

Firefighter/EMT James Freudenberg who was severely burned on duty while fighting a residential structure fire on Monday August 12, 2013.

James is now admitted to the burn center at University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. James was admitted on Tuesday morning August 13th. James is now scheduled to undergo his first surgery which will include a skin graft on Friday morning August 16th. He is expected to continue to be admitted to the burn center well into next week.

After discharge from the burn center, Firefighter Freudenberg will have to travel back to Mobile, Alabama to undergo continuous rehabilitation and treatments.

The Jackson County Professional Firefighters Union Local 3043 and a group of co-workers have set up a donation account at Wells Fargo Bank to help offset the cost of travel expenses. The account is named the James Freudenberg Donation Account and the number is #2657151797. Jackson County Fire Rescue Firefighters ask that you continue to keep James in your thoughts and prayers as he starts a long road to recovery.
