Beach Warning Flags Changed to Double Red

Posted: Updated:

The Bay County Sheriff's Office has posted double red flags on the beaches of Bay County this afternoon. The posting of double red flags means beaches are closed to swimmers due to extremely hazardous conditions indicating the presence of rip currents and/or high surf.

BCSO Beach Precinct deputies have assisted about twenty swimmers to shore today due to the presence of several rip currents along the shore. None were in distress and none required medical attention or transport to a local hospital.
