Battle On The Beach Taekwondo Tournament

Posted: Updated:

Over 1000 martial artists took over Edgewater Beach Resort on Saturday, showing off their moves in several different events. Those 1000 martial artists came to PCB from all over the country, from California to right at home in the Panhandle of Florida for this year's Battle on the Beach Tournament, hosted by Grandmaster Soon Ho Lee's Martial Arts Studio.

Grandmaster Lee began the tournament in 1982, and it's been in Panama City Beach ever since, with competitors ranging from just three to over 60 years old.

Grandmaster Lee is a 9th Degree Black Belt, and said when he held the first tournament over three decades ago, he never thought it'd be this big.

"At that time we didn't know how much we were going to grow," said Lee. "This is like a National event. I'm very happy and I can see more juniors and students to grow. I think it's a wonderful event for our association."

The 31st Annual Battle on the Beach Tournament wrapped up this afternoon.
