After a long summer of camps and practices, Panhandle Pop Warner kicked off their season Saturday with a jamboree. There are eleven total teams in PPW, and each took the field Saturday to play.
PPW boasts three different associations in Bay County, and it's not just about the boys either, as the ladies get to cheer from the sidelines.
Assistant football commissioner for PPW Jon Miller saying Saturday that everyone is very excited to be back in action.
"These guys have been practicing, the girls have been practicing their cheers, we don't like taking anything away from them so we always want to give back," said Miller. "We want to see them happy and come out and celebrate with their teammates. We want to see them making plays on the field, we want to see the girls bring the pride and spirit in the stands."
The eight week PPW season officially kicks off next Saturday, with every game played at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City.
