September 8-14 is Suicide Prevention Week, and one Bay County organization wants to help bring awareness with the help of a proclamation from the mayor of Panama City.
Suicide Prevention Awareness Response and Education or SPARE is trying to let people in our community know that there are people who care.
They want to get out the message, that suicide is not the answer.
If you would like to show your support 'SPARE' is holding its 2nd Annual Suicide Prevention Walk, September 14 in front of Gulf Coast State College. The walk will go over the Hathaway Bridge and back.
"We want people to know Bay County is a very caring county and we want people to know that there are people here that want to help them." Said Pam Trompeter of SPARE. "We want to educate people about suicide we really want to be there to help people."
For those that have suicidal thoughts, you can always call this number 873-8573 for help and support.
