Bay County, Fla. -

An early morning car crash in Bay County slows traffic for hours and claims the life of a Panama City man.

Two cars collided on Highway 231, just north of County Road 2301 on Friday around 3:45 a.m.  Florida Highway Patrol says Larry Roberts, 48, died in the crash.

FHP says the accident involved a pickup truck driven by Jeffery Pumphrey and a Ford Fusion driven by Roberts.  They say Roberts failed to slow down as he approached Pumphrey, hitting him from behind.  Both vehicles rolled, and Roberts was ejected from the Ford Fusion.

Margie Roberts was a passenger in the Fusion.  She has been transported to Bay Medical-Sacred Heart with serious injuries.

Pumphrey suffered only minor injuries.

Traffic was delayed in the area of the crash throughout the morning, but all lanes are now open.
