Controlled Burn in Liberty County Causing Smoke Issues All the Way in Bay County

The Florida Forest Service tells News 13 the U.S. Forest Service is conducting a control burn in south Liberty County on the west side of Highway 65. The burn started Thursday. The total acreage is 2,800.

The direction of the winds are causing smoke from this prescribed burn to be carried into Bay County. Issues could continue through Friday.

A second controlled burn of 35 acres is burning in Gulf County off of Highway 22 near Jarrot Daniels Road. This is a private land owner permit.
