The Callaway Rebels youth football program held a Fun Day on Saturday as a fundraising effort. The Rebels are part of the Gulf Coast Youth Football Association, and the guys, and the cheerleaders who cheer them on from the sideline, got to bounce around in bouncy houses and even slam pies in their coaches faces. Organizers agree, it was a good day for the kids, and it was all for a good reason.
"It's amazing. I've never seen a community like Callaway get behind the kids like they do," said Rebels fundraising coordinator Crystal Smith. "As soon as they found out it was for Callaway Rebels, they did anything they could to help volunteer and be here. We're raising money for their homecoming, and for their banquet that's coming up, and any kid that can't afford their fees, we're here to try and help them and raise money for them today."
