A Panama City man is facing multiple charges after a high speed pursuit that ended with a foot chase.
According to the Panama City Beach Police Department, Robert Demon King was driving recklessly on Front Beach Road at 1:18 a.m. Saturday and nearly collided head-on with a police cruiser.
When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, King allegedly fled westbound on Front Beach Road at a high rate of speed and crashed in the parking lot of the Salty Goat Saloon. Police said King then ran from the scene and was the taken into custody a short distance later at the corner of Laurel and Hibiscus streets.
King, 33, has been charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, having no valid driver's license, and three counts of hit and run.
Police said King was also wanted by Bay County authorities for a previous charge of aggravated battery and domestic violence.
