Walton SWAT Team Arrests Two on Drug and Theft Charges
On Friday, September 27th, investigators
with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office attempted to conduct an
interview at 504 Musset Bayou, Santa Rosa Beach, with a suspect, Brett
Phillips. Phillips, who is a convicted felon,
sold a "stolen" gun to an individual who pawned it a local business.
Several individuals were seen inside the residence and would not come to
the door when law enforcement made their presence known.
County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and
met with an individual who was inside the residence. A search warrant
was obtained for the residence and executed by SWAT. Deputies located a
shotgun, ammunition, marijuana, methamphetamine and items used to
manufacture methamphetamine. There was also a
blue scooter at the residence which was reported stolen out of Walton
County. All items were collected and turned into evidence.
Brett Phillips, 32, of 504 Musset Bayou, Santa Rosa
Beach, is charged with Possession of a Weapon or Ammo by a Convicted
Florida Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine,
Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of
Marijuana less than 20 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Robin Cooper, 28, of 186 N 7th Street,
Santa Rosa Beach, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance –
Methamphetamine, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana
less than 20 grams and Possession of Drug
