Every weekday thousands of parents put the safety of their children into the hands of one very important person, the school bus driver.
Right now Jackson County Schools are in need of more drivers. The school board is looking to welcome in four new bus drivers. A need for divers is clearly posted on Penn Avenue, outside the Bus Barn.
Four "non-route" bus drivers are needed immediately for bus routes to continue to run smoothly.
If hired drivers will work Monday through Friday, four hours a day with benefits.
They will be substitutes for route drivers and when no substitutes are needed, they will be bus monitors.
According to Transportation Administrator Randy Ward, these positions allow workers to move up within the transportation department, "We will hire someone for one of these non-route positions and then when a regular route position opens up they are our first considered for the full time route position."
