A motorcyclist from Georgia remains in critical condition following an accident on Back Beach Road near Pier Park last night.
According to the Panama City Beach Police Department, 43-year-old James Pugh of Marietta, GA, was injured when his motorcycle left the pavement at the end of the turn lane into Pier Park at Bluefish Drive and went into the grass.
Pugh had to lay his motorcycle down and was ejected. He was not wearing a helmet. Pugh was transported to Bay Medical Sacred Heart last night. The crash remains under investigation.

Officers with the Panama City Beach Police Department are currently investigating a traffic crash which occurred in the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Bluefish Drive at about 9:06 p.m. Patrol Officers responded to the report of a crash involving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 43 year-old James Pugh of Marietta, Georgia. The motorcycle was traveling westbound, on U.S. Highway 98, in the left turn lane, approaching the intersection of Bluefish Drive. The motorcycle left the pavement at the end of the turn lane, drove into the grass, and the motorcycle laid down on its side, ejecting Mr. Pugh. Mr. Pugh was not wearing a helmet and is currently listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Bay Medical Sacred Heart. The crash is still under investigation.
