Truckloads of pumpkins were delivered to the Marianna City Farmers Market Friday all for the 3rd annual Pumpkins in the Park. It's a free event that celebrates the fall staple and the people of Marianna.
Friday morning 1,000 pumpkins took a drive from Sneads into the Marianna Farmers Market. Pumpkins will be free to snatch up around nine in the morning, until noon.
Along with the regular Saturday vendors, the farmers market will have tables set up for kids to decorate their pumpkins. The Marianna Fire and Rescue will be announcing the name of a new addition to the fire house, their new mascot.
According to Vice President of the Marianna City Farmers Market, Lynn Lipford, the event is a day to give back to the community one pumpkin at a time, "Community response has just been amazing and its wonderful how much support we get from the community and we don't make money this day and its more in appreciation for the customers and the family."
