Edgewater Gymnastics hosted their 9th Annual Fall Into Edgewater Meet this weekend, with over 400 gymnasts from across the country making the trip to Bay County for the three day meet. Six different states were represented this year, and meet director Pam Kitchen says families from as far north as Michigan competed, and for them, the trip to Panama City Beach is for more then gymnastics.
"This is one of the gymnast's favorite meets," said Kitchen on Saturday. "It's so neat when we go to different competitions throughout the United States, a lot of the kids will come up to us and say, oh you're from Edgewater, that's our favorite meet! It's so exciting they want to be here. They have the beach, and great weather, and the girls all get to go to the different attractions. All the athletes are able to go to Gulf World, and Zoo World, and Rock'It Lanes and just have a great time while they're here doing gymnastics."
This year's Fall Into Edgewater Meet wraps up on Sunday.
