Suspect Captured in DeFuniak Springs Subway Robbery

On October 6, 2013, at approximately 8:15 p.m. DeFuniak Springs Police responded to the Subway Restaurant located on U.S. Highway 331 South, in reference to robbery.

The Officers quick response enabled them to obtain a description of the suspect and his direction of travel, as a result within minutes a search of the area proved effective. Within minutes officers spotted a subject matching the description in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The subject fled upon sight of law enforcement officers. Officers gave chase on foot for a short distance and were able to apprehend the subject without further incident.

The suspect, later identified as Kevin P. Gaynor, 35 years of age, of Milton Florida was arrested by DeFuniak Springs Police, and transported to the Walton County Corrections Facility to answer to the charge of robbery.
