A.S.A.P. celebrates the 14th annual “Lights on After School”

A Bay County after school program is lighting the way when it comes to after school care.

The After School Assistance Program or A.S.A.P. celebrated the 14th annual "Lights on After School". This nationwide event that takes place each October 17th to remind us about the importance of helping kids when class lets out.

Mayor Greg Brudnicki read a proclamation naming Thursday as "Lights on After School Day" in Panama City.

A.S.A.P. Director Terri Gainer believes that programs like A.S.A.P. are can help mold a child's future.

"Well when you see kids grow up and their successful and go to college and produce good things and do good things with their lives that's what it means", says Gainer.

A.S.A.P. partners with the community to provide a range of services and resources for any child in Bay County that needs an after school program.
