What do you think of when you hear the name Bobby Bowden? Most people smile as they tell heartwarming stories of either meeting the football coaching legend, or hearing him share his Christian witness. He is best known of course for his coaching of the Florida State Seminoles from 1976 to 2009. This weekend, Coach Bowden returns to Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time in four years.
Coach Bowden says he is looking forward to his first time back in four years, and he's not nervous about it. "I'm too old to be nervous " he says with a laugh. Bowden continues, "it will be fun going back and seeing the field, standing on the field and looking at the crowd."
He still watching college games every Saturday. When asked about FSU's rising star quarterback, Jameis Winston, Coach Bowden says "I naturally heard so much about him, hadn't seen him, hadn't met him personally, but I watched him nearly every game this year and i can't believe what he is able to do as a freshman." Bowden says he is looking forward to being in the stadium for the fsu-nc state game on Saturday as a fan.
