Red Cross Recognizes Key Volunteers

The Central Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross announces the 2013 volunteer leadership award honorees.

At a recent ceremony held at the Panama City Country Club, sixty local volunteers, representing six counties received awards in recognition of their outstanding dedication and service to our community as Red Cross volunteers. 

According to Red Cross Executive Director, Bob Pearce, "It is an honor to work for and with the remarkable local people who volunteer their time and talents to help armed forces families and disaster victims.  They are my inspiration every day!"

Top leadership award winners for 2013 are:

  • Ruby Cooper Award – Malu Armesto, Jackson County
  • Clara Barton Award – Stephen Harvard, Bay County
  • Clara Barton Award – Don Foreman, Bay County
  • Clara Barton Award – Sandy Hascher, Jackson County
  • Gertrude Maplesden Award – Dick Hallisey, Bay County

County Volunteer of Year award winners for 2013 are:

  • Bay County – Fred Schreiber and Teresa Massey
  • Calhoun County – Betty Hudson
  • Gulf County – Corrina Owens
  • Jackson County – Dianne Blakely
  • Washington County – Kim Miller
