Thanksgiving came a week early for some Bay District School students. A full turkey dinner with all the fixings was served to students and their very special lunch guests on Thursday.
Each year, schools invite parents for a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal in the lunchroom.
Thursday morning, Northside Elementary School opened its doors for parents of pre-kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grade students.
The student's holiday themed artwork lined the walls and topped the tables. Some students even arrived for the occasion dressed as an indian or pilgrim.
Parents and students said they were excited to share lunch together, students to show off their school and parents to get a peak into their child's day.
However, they were all happy to share an early Thanksgiving together.
"I'm grateful for everything they do here at Northside. They're really good to the kids. I just enjoy spending time with them. It's just a special time, and I think everyone should enjoy this time with their kids," said Parent Rodney, who came to eat with his daughter Luci.
At Northside Elementary, parents with kindergarten, third and fifth grade students will be in invited for a Christmas lunch next month.
All Bay District Schools will be closed for the entire week starting Monday, November 25th - 29th.
