Florida Department of Health in Bay County has received a $150,000 grant from the Florida Blue Foundation. The 2-year grant will benefit the AD Harris Clinic in Panama City.
The IMPACT Grant will help to support the AD Harris Clinic located at 819 E 11th Street, Panama City, FL 32401. The grant will allow more patients to be seen and will decrease patient's waiting time. "The anticipated outcomes of this grant funded project are to improve health care access, increase cost savings and decrease inappropriate use of hospital emergency rooms", said Sandon S. Speedling, Assistant County Health Department Director, with the Florida Department of Health in Bay County.
The IMPACT Program is designed to increase access to quality, health-related services for Floridians, especially those who are uninsured and/or underserved. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis. Proposals are evaluated for their strength, merit and alignment with the Florida Blue Foundation mission – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Florida and their communities.
"Serving the unmet needs of our most vulnerable neighbors – women, children, migrants and the homeless – is still very necessary in our changing health care system," said Susan Towler, Vice President of the Florida Blue Foundation. "The organizations awarded grants this year provide essential health services, and we are honored to support their efforts."
IMPACT Program grants are strategically awarded to diverse, philanthropic, community-based solutions that improve program capacity and reduce barriers to access; promote collaboration, foster innovation and sustain quality; and leverage financial, human and other resources to maximize measurable impact.
