The Bay County Sheriff's Office has filed charges in connection to a Friday night shooting in Callaway.
Torie L. Robinson, the alleged shooter, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery after he turned himself in to authorities.
According to the BCSO, a friend of the victim placed the 911 call that sent deputies and EMS personnel to the scene in the 5200 block of Lee Drive just before 8:00 p.m. The victim, who had been shot in the jaw, arm, and pelvis, was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The BCSO said a canvas of the neighborhood developed information that revealed the shooting began as a verbal altercation over a broken bottle. Investigators said the victim and two friends were in a car parked in front of a home when the victim then threw a bottle out of the car.
Two men standing nearby reportedly demanded that the victim clean up the shattered glass because children often played in the area. The BCSO said the victim got out of the car and began to pick up the glass, but an argument ensued and the victim then punched one of the men. It was then that Robinson allegedly took out a handgun and fired four shots.
