Three former football players from Cottondale High School were seriously injured in a traffic accident overnight.
According to Ken Granger, principal at Cottondale High School, Elijawaun Jackson, Sheldon Vann and Jacquez Walker were seriously injured in the wreck. All three graduated from Cottondale High School last year and were freshmen football players at Webber University in Lake Wales, FL.
Granger said they were headed home to Jackson County for the Christmas break when the accident occurred. A football coach from Cottondale traveled to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Wednesday night and another coach traveled there this morning.
A spokesperson for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital said that Jackson and Vann are in fair condition this morning and Walker is in critical condition.
