One of the 6 Bay County varsity football teams will be looking for a new Head Coach to walk the sidelines next year.
Tuesday up at Bozeman, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Loren Tillman announced he will be resigning from Bozeman.
Tillman has been AD and Football Coach at Bozeman for the last 14 years when the school officially opened, but Bozeman has only had a varsity squad for the last nine.
Last year Tillman led a senior heavy football team to an 8-3 record overall and 2-1 in district play and the post season, but this year a very young buck squad could only manage a 2-8 overall record.
Tillman said, this move will be a positive one for Bozeman and himself.
"you know when i first came here i thought i would retire here but the longer you get into this you know why are other coaches changing moving you do not want to get burned out i love this game i really do but at the same time i do not want this to ever turn into work and i think a new scene for me is going to be positive for me but i also think it is going to be positive for this community and this school to get somebody fresh in and have that opportunity to look thru resumes and find the right fit for this school these kids and this community"
One number that Tillman said he is most proud of is the number 16. That's how many football players left the school with scholarships. As far as Tillman's future goes, he said he is hoping to be walking the sidelines at another school by spring, but at this time is not sure which one it will be.
