The Sims Veterans nursing home is gearing up for Christmas. Many area organizations have donated things to make sure the holiday is a good one.
This time it was the Bay County Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee, along with the Central Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The chamber delivered many gifts and necessities like stuffed animals, Hand-held radios, and even shampoo.
The Red Cross delivered hand written Christmas cards from the community and area schools.
The two groups just wanted to show their appreciation for the veterans.
"It means a lot to be able to give to these veterans, they gave so much to us and we can just show a small token of our appreciation," said Brittany Cole, Vice President of Communications for the Bay County Chamber of Commerce. "My grandpa was in here and they took great care and I can't thank Sims enough for what they did for our family and it's just a great place."
This comes just a day after American Legion Post 356 in Lynn Haven and the students at Merritt Brown Middle School donates many gifts to help fulfill each veteran's Christmas wish list.
