The South Walton Fire District (SWFD) was the proud recipient of a $600.00 check from James Murray Jr. General Manager of Sunquest Cruises. The presentation was held at the SWFD Fire Board monthly commission meeting yesterday January 13, 2014. The funds were raised during the Sunquest Cruises Autumn Harvest Wine Dinner.
"Solaris is honored to present this check to our local fire service agency. We believe in helping those that help and protect us", said general manager James Murray Jr. "This is another example of great community partnerships. We're grateful and humbled that Sunset Cruises chose us to receive this contribution", said Rick Talbert, Fire Chief.
Also, the South Walton Fire District (SWFD) was the proud recipient of a $2,300.00 check from Ty Sims, Race Coordinator of the Paddle Run Paddle Duathlon that was held October 26, 2013 to benefit the SWFD Junior Lifeguard Program. The check was presented at the SWFD Fire Board monthly commission meeting yesterday January 13, 2014
"We're excited that Mr. Sims put forth a successful event in an effort to support the SWFD Junior Lifeguard Program. It's these types of partnerships that make South Walton a great community", said Rick Talbert, Fire Chief.
"This contribution will help us develop our program to even greater heights. With next season on the horizon, the SWFD is already preparing and developing enhancements for the Junior Lifeguard Program and the support will go a long way to help those efforts", said Gary Wise, SWFD Beach Safety Director.
