CHARLOTTETOWN, Jan. 31, 2014 /CNW/ - A hearing has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), to consider whether the panel should accept a Settlement Agreement entered into between IIROC staff and John Shane MacEachern.

The Agreement concerns allegations that Mr. MacEachern recommended and facilitated an investment in securities offered by Capital Market Technologies Inc., without the consent or knowledge of his Dealer Member firm.

The hearing is not open to the public, but will become open in the event that the panel accepts the agreement. If the agreement is accepted, the Panel's decision and the Settlement Agreement will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.

IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. MacEachern's conduct in December 2012.  The alleged violations occurred while he was a Registered Representative with the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island branch of RBC Dominion Securities Inc., an IIROC-regulated firm. Mr. MacEachern is currently registered as a Registered Representative with the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island branch of TD Waterhouse Canada Inc.
