The Gulf Coast men's basketball team needed a win Saturday night to keep their dreams of postseason play alive, but the Tallahassee Eagles cam into Panama City and dealt the Dores the 83-78 loss to end that dream.
The Gulf Coast ladies, out of any postseason talk, but looking to close out the season strong. The Lady Eagles made things interesting at the end, but Gulf Coast, held on for the 61-59 win. After the game, head coach Vernette Skeete happy for the victory.
"We didn't put together a great 40 minute game as I would have loved to, of course, everybody does, but I thought we had some real special moments and executions down the stretch," she said after the win. "We didn't finish well but at this point, after battling back from a loss against Chipola that was so traumatic, it's good to get a good win."
