Area Boys Basketball Teams Prep For Regional Semifinals

Posted: Updated:

For area boys basketball teams, Lakeland and the State Final Four is on everyone's minds. On Tuesday, the hunt for a State Championship continues as Regional Semifinals hit the floor.

The Rutherford Rams are making their fifth straight postseason appearance, and are gearing up for a tough Semifinal match up against Tallahassee Rickards on Tuesday. While Ram head coach Rhondie Ross says he knows his guys will be undersized, he wants to make sure to welcome Rickards to a packed Ram house Tuesday night.

"We're always at a disadvantage because we don't have any size," he said after practice on Tuesday. "You would like to think you have an advantage on your home court if some fans would come out. I think it definitely would help. We're going to feed off their energy. If we have a lot of fans out here, the kids feed off that, so hopefully we can get them in here."

The Rams and the Raiders tip off at 7/CT on Tuesday night, and they're not the only local team on the floor. In Class 4A, Marianna travels to Pensacola Catholic. In Class 1A, Malone hosts Cottondale, Paxton travels to Sneads, and Chipley hosts Port St. Joe. All games tip at 7/CT.
