Here is the press release provided Tuesday, March 11, by the Bay County Sheriff's Office

The Bay County Sheriff's Office responded to a stabbing call yesterday evening on Thomas Drive at about 7:00 p.m. Deputies arrived to find a male victim with a severe laceration to the abdomen. Witnesses told deputies the victim was standing next to the road near the address of 8711 Thomas Drive when the incident occurred and when he began yelling he had been stabbed, they called 911.

Statements were taken from several individuals in the area who report seeing a group of individuals near the victim and then noticing one of the men running away just before the victim began to yell.

The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition. Investigators are waiting for him to recover enough to be able to give them a statement about the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
