Panama City TDC Planning Committee Discusses Bed Tax

Posted: Updated:

The Panama City Tourist Development Council Planning Committee is looking at ways to spend bed tax dollars. It is estimated that 2.6 million dollars will be raised over the next 2 years.

A state statute mandates that a committee be formed that will decide how the funds will be used.

Marketing Panama City, and both the City and St. Andrew's Marina's were just a few ideas discussed. Committee Chairman Andrew Levy is very optimistic about the direction the advisory committee is headed.

"I think it's great we have had really positive Conversation I think that we have focused on the right things in to where we want to go, I think we will have the beginnings of a plane in the next couples weeks and we will build off of that further," says Levy.

This is just the beginning of a process that could take as long as 90 days the next meeting will be Thursday may 1 at 3pm.
