A man is found dead behind his family's farmhouse in Washington County Sunday.
Authorities say they received a phone call around 1:30 Sunday morning from the Alabama Bureau of Investigations advising that a vehicle involved in a shooting of an Alabama State Trooper was owned by a resident of Washington County.
Sheriff's office deputies were immediately dispatched to the home on Dauphin Road to check on the registered vehicle owner and that's where they found the body of 66-year-old James Shores.
WCSO and FDLE crime lab were dispatched to the scene.  Investigators with WSCO are continuing extensive interviews and a search of all vehicles on the property at this time.
Currently, there are persons of interests in custody from the suspected homicide.
