Six months of hard work is finally complete for engineering students as they showcase their final projects.
Seventeen students at FloridaStateUniversity’s Panama City Campus’ EngineeringSchool spent their morning showcasing their senior projects.
The students were tasked with creating projects over the last six months with the guidance of businesses in the community.
Students began the day demonstrating how their projects work followed by in-depth presentations.
Dr. Geoffrey Brooks says Engineering Day is a great opportunity for the students to prepare for the real world.
“We’re very proud of our students here,” said Brooks. “They’re very talented and I think our campus draws really talented students and most of our students are local and most of them will stay local which is part of the reason we reach out to the community and bring them into the classroom to give them these real world experiences.”
Dr. Brooks says the mission of Engineering Day is to take academics and bring them into real life application, which is a vital part of the engineering process.
