Cancers affects so many people, but one organization wants to spread hope to survivors and victims.
This was the scene Friday tonight at the Callaway Sports Complex, as hundreds are expected to gather for the American Cancer Society's East Side Relay for Life.
For the last 10 years, Relay for Life host teams that will walk for 24 hours in support for those that have been diagnosed with cancer and have survived cancer.
This years Chair, Jamie Gilbert was excited to see all the survivors come out for the first lap.
“The survivor lap that just went by is and the survivor dinner that is just about to happen that is why we are doing all of this we want more people on that lap we want more people in that tent that is the biggest thing tonight to me,” says Gilbert.
If you would like to form and team or just get involved, Panama City will be having their relay for life next Friday at Tommy Oliver Stadium starting at 6 pm.
