The Lynn Haven Police Department announced the arrest of 30 year old Sheena Matthews of 1806 Minnesota Avenue on charges of Child Neglect.
A Housing Authority Inspector arrived at the residence of Ms. Williams for a pre-arranged home inspection and found she was not there.
While knocking on the door the Inspector heard a child inside crying for her mother. After the child opened the unlocked door she told the Inspector her mother was not home and she didn’t know where she was.
The investigation revealed Ms. Williams left her children; a 5 year old female and a 15 month old male in the unlocked home unattended and unsupervised for at least 15 minutes.
While being interviewed Ms. Williams related she and her boyfriend had been arguing and he left the residence the night before.
He now was refusing to answer her repeated phone calls or text messages.
She left the children alone and drove to a store to call from a payphone, from a number he would not recognize hoping he would take her call.
The two children were turned over to the Department of Children and Families.
Ms. Matthews was transported to Bay County Jail and will undergo First Appearance on charges of Felony Child Neglect.
